Suroy App Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026. This policy covers Suroy: Philippine Passport on iPhone, iPad and Android.
The short version. Suroy has no account and no sign-in. It never asks for or uses your location. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking across other apps or websites. Your Passport lives on your phone, and we never receive a copy.
Who makes the app
Suroy: Philippine Passport is made by SuroyPH Media Group OPC in Cebu, Philippines, the publisher of Suroy.ph. This page covers the app on iPhone, iPad and Android. They work the same way, and where a detail differs by phone, this page says which. The Suroy.ph website has its own policy, Our Privacy Policy.

What stays on your phone
Everything you put into Suroy is stored on the device itself:
- the provinces you mark Been and On my list, and your home province
- places you know from Play, and any Worn records
- Daily answers, scores, streaks and progress in Daily Suroy, Sakto ba?, Suroy Fun Run and the Cebu Quiz
- planned and finished trips, with their stamps and dates
- your notes, and on iPhone and iPad any photo you keep with a note
- saved places and app settings
The home screen widget reads a small snapshot of that record, kept inside the app on your device: your Been and On my list counts, the last place you marked Been, and whether today’s Daily is done. It sends nothing anywhere.
Been is your own record of where you have gone. The app never checks it against your location, because it never asks for your location.
Photos you keep with a note (iPhone and iPad)
On iPhone and iPad you can keep a photo with a note. You pick the photo with your phone’s own photo picker, which hands Suroy that one image and nothing else. The app never gets permission to browse your library. Suroy keeps a smaller copy inside the app with the location and camera details removed, and your original stays where it was. That copy never leaves your device and is never added to a share card. Delete the note or remove the photo and the copy goes with it.
The Android app does not have photos on notes. It has no photo picker and never reads your photo library.
What leaves your phone
Nothing goes to Suroy. Neither app sends your Passport, your notes, your games or anything about you to us or to anyone else. Daily Suroy checks and scores your answer on the phone. The Android app does not even have permission to use the internet.
Three things leave the app only when you choose them.
Sharing a card. The card or text you picked goes to your phone’s share menu, and the app or person you send it to handles it from there. Saving a card to your photos may ask permission to add that one image. Suroy never reads your photo library.
Opening a link. Links to Suroy.ph articles and the Suroy Wear store open in a separate browser view inside the app on iPhone and iPad. On Android they open in a Custom Tab: a panel from your phone’s default browser, usually Chrome, shown over the app. The Suroy app itself still has no internet access. Once a page opens you are on that website, and it may see ordinary connection details such as your IP address and use cookies, analytics or checkout services, the way any website does. Your Passport, notes and game answers are never part of the link. The store link carries a tag that tells the store the visit came from the app. The tag names the app, not you. Those sites have their own policies: Suroy.ph and Suroy Wear.
Emailing us. If you write to app@suroy.ph, we receive the message and the address you send it from, and we use them to reply. We cannot see anything on your phone, so there is no need to send your Passport or your notes.
Crash reports. If you have allowed it in your phone’s settings, Apple and Google may pass us anonymous crash reports. They describe what went wrong in the app. They do not carry your Passport, your notes or your name. Suroy itself contains no crash-reporting code.
What Suroy never asks for
Neither the iPhone app nor the Android app asks for any of these:
- an account, a sign-in or a password
- your location
- permission to browse your photo library
- your contacts, microphone or camera
- an advertising ID, or permission to track you across other apps and websites
- payment details, because there is nothing to buy inside the app
Neither app contains third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code.
Your phone’s own backup
Like most apps, Suroy can be included in your phone’s own backup if you have turned it on: iCloud or a computer backup on iPhone and iPad, and your Google account backup on Android. That backup belongs to your Apple or Google account, and we never see it. There is no Suroy cloud sync.
Children
Suroy is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included. If you have a privacy concern involving a child, write to app@suroy.ph.
Your choices
You can change your Been and On my list provinces in the Passport, and edit or delete any note. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device. On iPhone, offloading the app keeps your records for when you reinstall, so delete it rather than offload it if you want them gone. Backups, cards you already saved to your photos and anything you shared are managed wherever they now live.
Because we hold no account and receive no copy of your records, there is nothing on our side to look up, correct or delete. For anything you sent us by email, write to app@suroy.ph.

When this page changes
We plan to add online features later, such as showing how rare your Daily Suroy answer was compared with other players. If an update ever sends anything off your phone, this page will be updated first to say exactly what, and the privacy answers on the App Store and Google Play will change with it. Every change is posted here with a new effective date.
