Why these give you a range and not a number
A single figure would be a lie you could book against. Room rates move by season, ferries move by operator, and a tour that costs ₱1,400 in June is ₱1,800 in December. So every line runs low to high, and the total carries a contingency on top of it.
What that buys you is a floor you can plan around and a ceiling that will not surprise you. Fares you have already booked go in as their own line and stay out of the contingency, because a paid ticket does not move.
The prices come from driving the routes and paying the fares, then re-checking them against what operators are quoting the month we publish. Every page carries the date it was checked. When it goes stale, we say so.
