Wood-paneled walls, white tablecloths and generous steak plates give Luzern Steakhouse a distinctly old-school place in Cebu's dining scene. Here is what to order, how to choose your doneness and what to know before you go.
Wood-paneled walls, white tablecloths, generous steak plates and a bar that looks built for long dinners: Luzern Steakhouse offers a distinctly old-school night out in the middle of Cebu City.
The verdict: choose Luzern when you want dinner to feel like an occasion without the stiffness of a modern tasting room. It works best for a date, a family celebration or a proper catch-up over steak. Decide on your preferred cut, be specific about doneness, and ask for the current menu and prices when you reserve.
Cebu has no shortage of polished new restaurants, but Luzern leans in another direction. Its stone-fronted entrance opens into a warm room of timber walls, upholstered chairs, folded napkins and a full bar. The look is closer to a classic mountain lodge than a glass-and-concrete city restaurant. That contrast is the story here: a steak dinner that slows the evening down.

Luzern sits on St. Moritz Road, close to Gorordo Avenue and Archbishop Reyes Avenue. The daytime frontage is understated, with pale stonework, timber doors and the older St. Moritz Pub and Restaurant signs above. At night, the round Luzern emblem makes the entrance much easier to spot.
Inside, the atmosphere is formal enough for a celebration but familiar enough that you do not need to perform fine dining. White tablecloths and proper place settings share the room with wood booths, patterned chairs and a bar lined with bottles. It feels personal, lived-in and comfortably removed from the traffic outside.

Luzern’s is a fine-dining steakhouse serving USDA steaks. They serve tenderloin, prime ribeye and porterhouse, so diners can choose between leaner, softer cuts and richer steaks with more marbling.
If you are unsure, ask three practical questions before ordering: How large is the cut? What sides come with it? Is the listed weight before cooking? Those answers matter more than chasing the biggest steak on the page, especially when the table plans to share starters.

There are plenty of sides available. Pair your order with crisp potato wedges, mixed vegetables and sauce; a thick steak with garlic rice; and smaller steak portions with mashed potatoes. Portions vary by cut, so this is where a quick conversation can prevent both over-ordering and plate envy.

Not everyone wants a single oversized cut. They smaller steak plates that are meant to be shared for diners who prefer a composed meal with vegetables, potatoes and sauce. You can also have their gambas and chicken soup, while affogato gives the table a simple coffee-and-dessert finish.
For a mixed group, a practical order is one starter for the table, individual mains based on appetite, and dessert only after the plates are cleared. Steakhouse portions can be deceptive on a menu, and the bread, sides and sauce add up quickly.

If your group wants a fast, inexpensive meal, this is probably not the right stop. Luzern makes more sense when the steak is the plan, not something squeezed between errands.

The old-school room is part of Luzern’s appeal, but it will not suit everyone. Diners who prefer bright, minimalist interiors may find the space traditional. Large steaks can also push the bill up quickly, and the right doneness matters when you are paying for a particular cut. Ask about size, current price and inclusions before the kitchen fires the order.
There are plenty of parking spaces available. A reservation is recommended for Friday and Saturday dinner, especially for a larger table.

Start by choosing the cut that suits you. Luzern’s specialty features tenderloin, prime ribeye and porterhouse. Pair the steak with garlic rice for a more local plate or potatoes for the traditional steakhouse route.
Bottom line: Luzern Steakhouse is for the nights when dinner deserves its own space on the calendar. Come with an appetite, order with a clear doneness in mind, and let the wood-paneled room do what newer restaurants sometimes forget: make the meal feel separate from the rest of the day.
