Direct RoRo or the Mindoro route?
The direct ferry removes the need to drive across Mindoro and queue at a second major crossing. It is usually the easier plan for families, first-time vehicle travelers and anyone carrying a full car.
The Batangas to Calapan, road across Mindoro, then Roxas to Caticlan route gives you more moving parts and sometimes more sailing choices. It can suit a road trip where Mindoro is part of the itinerary. It is not automatically faster after you count two port check-ins, the overland drive, fuel and the risk of missing the second ferry.
Passenger or cabin: what should you book?
- Reclining seat: lowest published passenger option, best when budget matters and you can sleep sitting up.
