Plan cash for entrance, environmental, guide and activity fees across Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor and the Dumaguete corridor.
There is no single Central Visayas tourism fee. Each municipality, protected area and private attraction collects its own charge, and several activities bundle the entrance, guide, gear and transport into one package. Carry cash, ask for a receipt and confirm what is included before paying.
There is also a geography correction. Central Visayas now consists of Cebu and Bohol. Republic Act 12000 placed Negros Oriental and Siquijor in the Negros Island Region. Travelers still combine Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete and Siquijor in one trip, so this guide keeps the practical corridor together without using the outdated regional label.

Cebu: separate entrance from the activity package
Kawasan is the clearest example. A walk-in visit to the first level is not the same product as canyoneering. The regulated canyoneering price combines the activity, local guide, safety equipment, entrance and usually lunch. A very low quote may have removed an inclusion you actually need.
Oslob also uses different tiers. Boat viewing costs less than entering the water, and local and foreign visitor rates differ. Your actual encounter is limited, while the queue can take much longer. Pay at the recognized registration process and complete the required briefing.
Moalboal fees depend on the beach and activity. Panagsama has no general gate charge for the sardine-run shoreline, while Basdaku properties and access points may collect entrance, parking or facility fees. Ask what the payment covers instead of treating every cash request as one environmental fee.
Bohol: a countryside day is several separate tickets
A March 2026 Bohol provincial procurement notice used ₱150 for Chocolate Hills, ₱170 for the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary and ₱1,200 for a Loboc River cruise with lunch. Those are useful planning anchors because they appeared in a current provincial document, but a commercial tour may add a vehicle, guide and agency margin.
Island-hopping prices are harder to compare. Ask the operator to separate the boat, environmental charges, snorkeling guide, gear and island fees. A low base price followed by several cash collections on the water is not cheaper.
Siquijor and Dumaguete corridor: bring small bills
Siquijor visitors may encounter a port environmental charge and separate collections at falls, beaches, caves and rope swings. Rates can differ by site and activity. Keep the receipt from the port and do not assume it covers the rest of the island.
Dumaguete City’s central waterfront and Campanario can be visited without building a day around entrance tickets. Many waterfalls marketed as Dumaguete trips are actually in nearby Valencia. Budget separately for the tricycle or motorcycle, parking, entrance and any local guide.
How to avoid double-paying
- Ask the operator to list every included fee in writing.
- Keep municipal and protected-area receipts until the activity ends.
- Do not pay a second entrance fee if your package voucher clearly includes it. Show the voucher at the counter.
- Separate mandatory charges from optional rentals, photos, lockers, tables and tips.
- Carry ₱20, ₱50, ₱100 and ₱200 bills. Small counters may not have change for ₱1,000.
- Reconfirm rates when you arrive. Local ordinances and operator bundles can change before travel websites do.

Is an environmental fee valid for the whole island?
Usually not. A port or municipal environmental fee does not automatically cover private attractions, guides, rentals or separate protected areas.
Are camera fees common?
Personal phone photography is usually included at the places in this guide. Professional shoots, drones and hired underwater photos can carry separate charges or permission rules.
