IKEA Bus at Cebu IT Park: What Is Inside, What It Costs, and the Market Next Door
The IKEA bus is at Cebu IT Park until 8 November, 10 AM to 7 PM, with a ₱699 orangutan on board and the Merry Market a minute away. Prices and pins.
A blue IKEA bus in an open lot at Cebu IT Park until Sunday, 8 November, with a ₱699 orangutan on board, and a hundred meters south, the Merry Market still putting up its tents at 2 PM on Friday, 6 November 2026.
IKEA’s store in Mandaue opens on 16 December. Forty days before that, the first piece of it you can walk into in Cebu is a bus. It is parked in an open lot inside Cebu IT Park, painted the same blue as the bags, and it is one aisle long: a row of small rooms built to show how much fits into a Filipino house that has no spare room. It is only here until Sunday.
Go if you want to stand inside the furniture and read real price tags before the store opens. Then walk a hundred meters south. The Merry Market under the arch there is the better reason to stay the afternoon.

Where the IKEA bus is parked in Cebu IT Park
The bus sits in an open paved lot at 10.3294° N, 123.9063° E, with a white canopy beside it for the sign-up table. A “Hej!” board under the canopy carries a QR code for IKEA Family, the free membership. The Merry Market’s arch is about 100 meters south, and its tents run along the road facing Mabuhay Tower.
The canopy is the only shade in the lot. At 2 PM the asphalt was in full sun, so bring a cap if you go midday. The bus is open 10 AM to 7 PM for three days only, Friday, 6 November, to Sunday, 8 November 2026.

What is inside the IKEA bus
An A-frame by the door reads “Make room for more, one piece at a time,” and that is the whole brief. Every window bay is a room-sized idea. A small desk with a white pegboard of pens and markers. A tree-shaped hook rack under the line “For clothes that need to be hung, not folded.” A rolling trolley stacked with jars and plastic fruit. A shelf of trophies and medals beside a potted monstera, which is the most recognizable display on the bus, because so many houses in Cebu have that exact shelf.
The pitch is written on the floor in vinyl letters, and it starts with “A place for every pasalubong.” It is aimed squarely at Cebu. The pasalubong drawer, the balikbayan box under the bed, the certificates nobody throws away: that is what a house here is actually storing. In Bisaya, the word for where all of it ends up is balay, house and home, which is also the one word on Suroy Wear’s Balay Tee.

IKEA prices on the bus
Every display carries a tag. Four read clearly on the day: the Djungelskog orangutan soft toy at ₱699, the Handskalad wooden hand at ₱799, the Brunbåge LED work lamp at ₱999 and the Råskog trolley at ₱1,499. All four together come to ₱3,996.
Nothing yet. The orangutan is where most people start.
About 100 meters apart, a one-minute walk south from the bus to the arch. Both pins are where the photographs on this page were taken.

The Merry Market, a minute’s walk south
The arch reads Merry Market, with the Cebu I.T. Park and Papi and Friends marks on it, and it is dressed for the season: a candy cane, a stocking, a tree, and, less expected, a dog bone and a doghouse. Papi and Friends is the Cebu flea-market crew that runs its own pop-ups around the city. This one is a row of white tents under the trees along the road facing Mabuhay Tower.

At 2 PM on Friday it was not trading yet. Vendors were unloading blue crates, monobloc chairs and extension reels, and the stall names were already up: 22 Matcha, Chai Tea House with its Tea Time cart, Arteasans Premium Tea Blends sharing a tent with Paulitos Pasalubong, Bacio Gelato with a giant cone out front, and a tent for a DVMF pet care and vaccination drive with a Hannah’s van parked beside it. So the bone on the arch is not only decoration.
Read that as the timing advice. A market still setting up at 2 PM is built for the late afternoon and the after-work crowd IT Park already pulls, the same crowd that keeps Sugbo Mercado busy at night. Run dates and opening hours had not been posted as of 6 November 2026.

How to do both in one trip
Bus first, market second. The bus closes at 7 PM and the lot has no shade, so go in the late afternoon, walk through before closing, then walk south to the arch and let the market fill the rest of the afternoon. If you are coming by jeepney, the IT Park routes and fares are in the Cebu City jeepney guide, and the rest of the district is in the Cebu IT Park guide. For the season beyond this lot, the Christmas in Cebu roundup has where the lights are and when they switch on.
The annoying parts
The bus is gone after Sunday, 8 November, and it closes at 7 PM each night, so an after-work visit on a weekday means Friday or nothing. The Merry Market had not posted its run dates or hours as of 6 November. The bus lot is open asphalt with a single canopy. And the market keeps its own clock: arrive at lunch and you will be watching people unpack.
