Update, 9 August 2026: Sugbo Mercado is moving. The market is leaving the lot it has traded on in front of Avida Towers, beside the IT Park transport terminal. The new site is the lot next to the JPMorgan Chase building, off Inez Villa Street, a short walk across the district.

As of 9 August 2026 the new lot is still being set up. Tents are going up and no opening date has been published. Check the official Sugbo Mercado Facebook page on the day before travelling for it. Full detail on the move is here.

Sugbo Mercado is where Cebu goes when it cannot decide what to eat, and the market’s answer is: everything. The IT Park food market packs dozens of stalls into one lot, Filipino classics next to international plates, all of it priced so a proper feast does not require a proper budget.

The verdict: come in the evening when the grills are at full roar, bring cash and company, and order across at least three stalls. This is Cebu’s food scene compressed into one loud, delicious square.

What to eat at Sugbo Mercado

  • Pinatayong Lechon Manok: the standing roast chicken whose aroma does the marketing for the whole market.
  • Lechon belly: the Cebuano staple, available at more stalls than you can audit in one visit.
  • Adobong balut: our personal favorite, and the dish that separates visitors from converts.
  • Cocktails and desserts to close the loop, with live entertainment running most nights.

Hours and how to get there

Sugbo Mercado runs on its published trading days, from late afternoon until midnight, and the evening hours are when it earns its reputation: freshest food, fullest stalls, loudest atmosphere. The market sits in Cebu IT Park, an easy taxi, jeepney, or ride-share from anywhere in the city. The former Ayala Business Park branch has closed; IT Park is the one.

Before you go

  • Come hungry and come plural. Sharing across a group is the only way to cover ground.
  • Bring cash. Some stalls take cards and GCash, but cash moves faster.
  • Clean as you go. House rule, gladly enforced by everyone.

Keep eating Cebu

If Sugbo Mercado lights the fuse, the rest of the city’s food canon is waiting: the full story of Cebu lechon, and Central Ice Cream, the original dirty ice cream, for the finish.
