Long Men Hotpot, Cebu City: no buffet, no time limit, and a dragon on the pot

Cebu hotpot runs on five hundred peso unlimited. This one has charged by the plate since 2019, page one cannot agree what time it shuts, and one listing files it forty kilometers north of the city.

The pot arrives before anything else does. Brass, wide, divided down the middle, with a cast dragon head sitting on the rim where the spout would be on a kettle. Clear broth on one side with cucumber and corn floating in it. On the other side a red slick of chili and Sichuan peppercorn deep enough that you cannot see the bottom of it. Then the plates start landing, and this is where Long Men stops behaving like every other hotpot in Cebu.

Everyone else in this city sells unlimited. This one does not.

Cebu hotpot is a buffet market. Meatogether at Central Bloc, ALL4U on F. Ramos near Robinsons, Hachimitsu up at Capitol, Tong Yang at Seaside, the samgyupsal places along A.S. Fortuna. You pay one price at the door, you get a time limit, and you go as hard as you can inside it. The band has sat around five to six hundred pesos a head for years.

Long Men charges for the broth and then charges for each plate you put in it. That is the whole difference, and it changes the meal in three ways.

  • You order less and it is better, because nothing on the table is there to justify a cover charge.
  • Two people can eat here without subsidizing a table of six who came to break the restaurant.
  • You can sit for as long as you want, because there is no clock on a bill you built yourself.

It also means the bill is not predictable, which is the trade. Unlimited is a promise about the number. This is a promise about the food.

What is actually in the red side

Chongqing, not Sichuan generally and not the Taiwanese style that most Philippine shabu-shabu descends from. The full name over the door carries Tiongking, which is Chongqing spelled the way it travels through Hokkien, and the Chinese on the sign reads Long Men, dragon gate. It opened in August 2019 and it was the first place in Cebu selling this specific thing.

The practical consequence is numbing rather than only hot. Sichuan peppercorn does something to the front of your mouth that chili does not, and if you have only ever had Philippine spicy you will not be ready for it on the first spoon. Order the divided pot. Everybody who tells you to be brave and take the full red is not paying your bill.

The room is on the second floor of a condominium, which is why it does not look like a restaurant from the street and why it is quiet enough to hear the pot. Woven round panels on the wall, dark wood chairs, tables spaced properly. It has been laid out for large groups since the beginning and there are private rooms behind the main floor.

Why this article does not print a price

Because both numbers on the internet are wrong and the honest thing is to say so.

Two broth prices circulate for this restaurant. One is ₱450 and it comes from a write-up published in August 2019, three weeks after opening and seven years and one pandemic ago. The other is ₱380 and it sits on an aggregator listing with no date attached to it at all. They contradict each other, neither has a photograph of a board behind it, and no plate prices exist anywhere.

So plan it the way you would plan any a la carte meal you have not seen the menu for. Two people ordering a divided pot, two meat plates, a vegetable plate and noodles will land somewhere above what a ₱588 buffet costs, not below it. If the total matters to you, ask for the menu before you order the pot rather than after. This page carries the real board as soon as it is photographed.

Nobody agrees what time it shuts

This is the correction that actually costs people an evening. Search the name and you get seven different closing times.

What a listing saysClosing time it gives
Lunch service only, no dinner2:00 PM
Two travel listings9:30 PM and 10:00 PM
An aggregator11:00 PM
A duplicate listing for the same restaurant1:30 AM
The restaurant’s own promoted video3:00 AM
Closing times found across page one, checked September 2026. The spread is thirteen hours.

The only one of those carried by the restaurant itself is the 3:00 AM figure, which fits a Chongqing hotpot far better than a 9:30 PM one does. Every source agrees on a 10:30 AM open and an afternoon break. Treat the evening as late and call anyway, because a listing that says the kitchen closes after lunch will send you home hungry.

And it is not in Carmen

One widely scraped listing files this restaurant under Carmen. Carmen is a municipality about forty kilometers north of the city, roughly an hour and a half up the coast, and it is where Cebu Safari is. Somebody is going to drive there.

Long Men is on the second floor of Queensland Manor on F. Rahmann Street, in Barangay Zapatera, inside Cebu City, a few minutes off Mango Avenue. The coordinates below come off the metadata of the photographs on this page, so they are the position the camera was standing in rather than a figure copied from a directory.

Going

  • Where. 2nd Floor, Queensland Manor, F. Rahmann Street, Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City 6000.
  • Coordinates. 10.3090° N, 123.9013° E, read off the EXIF of the frames on this page.
  • Hours. Opens 10:30 AM, breaks in the afternoon, reopens around 5:00 PM. Closing is disputed across every listing, so call. Checked September 2026.
  • Phone. The landline most widely repeated is (032) 238 3810. Two mobile numbers also circulate.
  • Order. The divided pot, not the full red. One beef plate, one lamb or pork plate, one leaf vegetable, one mushroom, noodles last so they do not soak the broth early.
  • Group size. Built for groups, with private rooms. Two people work fine and will pay less than they would at a buffet.
  • Delivery. None. It is dine-in.

Questions people actually ask

Where is Long Men Hotpot in Cebu?

Second floor of Queensland Manor on F. Rahmann Street, Barangay Zapatera, Cebu City, a short run off Mango Avenue. It is not in Carmen, despite one listing that says so.

Is Long Men Hotpot unlimited?

No. It is a la carte. You pay for the soup base and then for each plate, which is unusual in Cebu, where almost all hotpot is an unlimited cover charge with a time limit.

How much is Long Men Hotpot?

No reliable current price exists. The two broth figures circulating online, ₱380 and ₱450, contradict each other and the second is from 2019. Ask for the menu at the table and expect a la carte to run above a ₱588 buffet for two people eating properly.

What kind of hotpot is it?

Chongqing. Numbing and hot rather than only hot, from Sichuan peppercorn as well as chili. Take the divided pot on a first visit.

What time does Long Men Hotpot close?

Disputed. Listings give everything from 2:00 PM to 3:00 AM, a thirteen hour spread. The 3:00 AM figure is the one the restaurant’s own promotion carries. Call before a late run.

Other Cebu bowls worth the trip are in the Hamakaze write-up, and the wider neighborhood is covered in the IT Park guide.
