Starbucks at The Outlets @MEZ2, Lapu-Lapu: two floors, open until midnight

Starbucks has a new store of its own at The Outlets @MEZ2 Estate in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu, the stretch locals call Tamiya. It is a standalone two-storey building clad in Mactan stone, the island’s own coral limestone, with black window frames. It is not a counter inside a mall, and it keeps long hours: 7 a.m. to midnight, every day. It opened on Saturday 19 September 2026, the fourth Starbucks in Lapu-Lapu after the airport, Mactan Marina Mall and The Mactan Newtown.

What it is like inside
The ground floor is one long counter, with the pastry case running most of its length and three menu screens above it. The ceiling is timber slats, the floor is terrazzo, and a staircase climbs the right-hand wall to the second floor. On 30 September the merchandise table at the foot of the stairs was all Peanuts, Snoopy boxes and tumblers.
Eleven days after opening, just before 4 p.m. on a Wednesday, there were about eight people at the counter. Look out through the front windows and there is a Bo’s Coffee directly across the road, so two coffee chains now face each other on the same street.

The outlet stores around it open at 11 a.m. and close in the evening, so for four hours every morning the Starbucks is open and the shops are not, and the same is true again after the stores shut for the night. If you are coming for the outlets, have the coffee first.

Getting there
The Outlets @MEZ2 Estate sits inside the Mactan Economic Zone 2 estate in Basak. Until late 2025 it was called The Outlets at Pueblo Verde, and the old name still turns up on maps and business pages, so search either one. The Starbucks is its own building rather than a unit inside the outlet blocks, which makes it easy to spot from the road.
