Talisay City Hall Christmas Lights: The 2024 Castle, the 2025 Cutback, and 2026
Talisay City Hall in Cebu put up a castle of lights on its plaza in 2024, with a ring-shaped pavilion and the City Hall facade lit gold behind them. In 2025 the city scaled it down to a tree and a Belen and moved the money to Typhoon Tino recovery. For 2026 nothing had been announced on 30 October, so check before making the trip for the lights alone.

A castle of lights
Suroy.ph photographed the City Hall grounds in December 2024: a castle of lights on the plaza, a round pavilion framed in white lights, a tall tree in front of City Hall and a holiday message board from the mayor and council.
Scaled down for Tino
In November 2025 the city canceled its grand Christmas program, its Sinulog 2026 contest entry and its 2026 Charter Day concert, and moved the money to Typhoon Tino recovery. City Hall still got a tree and a Belen, noticeably simpler (SunStar and Sugbo.ph, 24 November 2025).

Cebu, not Negros
This is Talisay City in Cebu, just south of Cebu City. Talisay City in Negros Occidental also lights its plaza, and most search results mix the two up.
Lechon and the SRP
Talisay is a lechon town, and the food park on the South Road Properties is a short ride away. The lights are best after dark, when the castle and the City Hall facade are lit together.

2024: the castle
Suroy.ph photographed the grounds in December 2024, the frames filed on 22 December. The plaza held a castle of white and gold lights with turrets, a round pavilion framed in white lights, and a tall tree in front of the City Hall entrance, with the building’s facade lit gold. A message board from the mayor and the council wished residents a merry Christmas.
2025: a tree and a Belen
In November 2025 the city canceled its grand Christmas program, its Sinulog 2026 contest entry and its 2026 Charter Day concert, and moved the budget to Typhoon Tino recovery, SunStar and Sugbo.ph reported on 24 November 2025. City Hall still got a Christmas tree and a Belen, with simpler decorations; Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas said the city would still put up symbols of hope.
2026
No plan or lighting date had been published on 30 October 2026. Whether the castle returns or the simpler 2025 setup stays is unknown. The City of Talisay’s official pages are the place to watch in late November.

This is Talisay City in Cebu, the city just south of Cebu City. Talisay City in Negros Occidental also lights its plaza at Christmas, and the two are often mixed up in searches and listings.
