Banoks is a grilled-chicken chain, and Suroy.ph was at the opening of a Banoks in Banawa, Cebu City, in January 2025, drummers and all. The board that night had chicken paa at ₱199 and the door sign said 11 AM to 9 PM, Monday to Sunday. What is not clear in late 2026 is whether that is the store still trading: the only live Cebu listing Suroy.ph found calls itself “Banoks Capitol site,” with delivery reviews to 28 October 2026. Suroy.ph photographed a Banoks opening in Banawa in January 2025. The only listing found now says Capitol Site. They may be the same store under a loose address, or two stores. Ask before you go.

The door sign at opening read 11 AM to 9 PM, Monday to Sunday. The 2026 delivery hours are 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Thursday and 9 AM to 8 PM Friday and Saturday.

Banoks Ihaw-Ihaw started in Davao in 1995 and had 11 outlets there by 2010, per a 2010 profile. Whether the Cebu stores are part of that chain or a franchise has not been confirmed.

On foodpanda in October 2026, the Banoks listing at Capitol Site showed paa solo at ₱159.20, pecho solo at ₱169.60, liempo solo at ₱169.60, pork sisig solo at ₱150.40, pansit solo at ₱95.20 and chicken pastil, a Mindanao rice dish, at ₱95.20. Delivery hours were 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Thursday and 9 AM to 8 PM Friday and Saturday. The hot pockets are Lavienne’s, in flavors from spinach cheese to Oreo cheesecake, ₱39.20 to ₱69.60.
The two may be the same store under a loose address, or Banawa may have closed and Capitol Site opened. Suroy.ph could not find any other listing for a Banawa Banoks, and no news report of either.
The brand
Banoks Ihaw-Ihaw began in Davao in 1995, started by Manuel Paul “Bong” Villanueva with 35 employees, grilling chicken in the Negros style, and had 11 outlets in Davao by 2010, according to a profile from that year. The pastil on the Cebu menu fits a Mindanao chain, but whether the Cebu stores are company-run or a franchise has not been published. The family-secret history on earlier versions of this page had no source and is gone.
