NUSTAR Run 2026 brought six race distances to Cebu’s SRP waterfront on August 23, with routes from 1K to 21K and support for Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation.
NUSTAR Run 2026 brought six race distances to NUSTAR Resort Cebu and the South Road Properties early Sunday, August 23, placing 1K, 3K, 6K, 10K, 16K and 21K runners on one event program along Cebu City’s southern waterfront.
The event was staged at the NUSTAR Resort Cebu grounds in support of Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation. NUSTAR’s official event information also listed glow zones, live DJs and prizes as part of the race program.
An organizer-confirmed participant total and consolidated official results were not available on the event page when this report was prepared. The confirmed story is the range of distances, the pre-dawn schedule and a route plan that connected NUSTAR’s waterfront setting with major roads and landmarks across Cebu.
NUSTAR opened the event to different levels of runners through six categories. The 1K and 3K distances gave families and casual participants shorter options, while the 6K, 10K, 16K and 21K categories extended the course beyond the immediate resort grounds.
The published gun-start schedule placed the 21K at 2:00 a.m., followed by the 16K at 2:45 a.m., the 10K at 3:00 a.m. and the 6K at 4:30 a.m. The timing made darkness, waterfront lighting and the transition into morning part of the event design.
NUSTAR identified Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation as the event’s official beneficiary. That gave the race a community purpose beyond the distance categories and finish times.
The organizer’s route map placed the start and finish at NUSTAR Resort Cebu. The published 21K alignment followed the Cebu South Coastal Road and the Il Corso side of the waterfront, then used the SRP Bypass and Back Roads before continuing through F. Vestil Street, N. Bacalso Avenue, V. Rama Avenue and Osmeña Boulevard toward a turnaround at Fuente Osmeña Circle.
The map made an important distinction for anyone reviewing the course after the event. The Cebu Cordova Link Expressway appeared as geographic context across the channel, not as part of the announced NUSTAR Run route.
Shorter categories used more compact alignments around NUSTAR and SRP. Runners checking their official time, category standing or final route record should rely on NUSTAR’s verified channels and the event timing platform rather than unofficial reposts.
SRP is usually experienced as a wide, vehicle-oriented district connecting destinations such as NUSTAR, Il Corso and SM Seaside City Cebu. A road race temporarily changes that relationship. The same coastal roads become a measured course, while large buildings, the water and the CCLEX pylons serve as points of orientation.
The setting also reflects how Cebu’s southern skyline has developed in stages. SM Seaside opened in 2015. CCLEX and NUSTAR followed in 2022, changing the view across the channel and along Kawit Island. The new SM Seaside Cebu Arena added another major structure to the district in 2026.
NUSTAR Run joined a growing list of sports events using Cebu’s large infrastructure as part of the course experience. Earlier in August, IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu linked Mactan, Cordova, CCLEX and SRP across a much larger multisport route.
The event does not turn SRP into a continuous public promenade. Long blocks, exposed road sections, uneven pedestrian connections and privately managed waterfront properties still shape how people move through the district on ordinary days.
It does show how a scheduled sporting event can give residents another way to use and understand the waterfront. For a few hours, the roads were not simply links between major developments. They formed a shared course across a part of Cebu that continues to change.
Official participant figures, category results and any post-event advisories should be checked directly through NUSTAR and its race partners as those updates are released.
