Hot. Dry. Sweat. Thirsty. These are some of the words that describes the feeling we get during summer. Well, aside from getting your summer bod ready and scanning the beautiful white sand beaches to visit, here is one of the most essential thing to remember —- stay hydrated!
Yes. Don’t let your body be as dry as your lovelife is. Stay hydrated at least.
According to research, hydration helps improve brain performance, digestive harmony, healthier heart, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells and keeps organs functioning properly.
“On average, we recommend that men get 15 cups of fluid per day and women get 11 cups per day,” says Heather Mangieri, a registered dietitian.
You might be wondering how can we become creative to stay hydrated. We got you! As you know, there are people who are not a fan of drinking water. There are some that find it hard just to finish a glass of water but find it effortless to finish a case of beer. I don’t know but these people exist.
So with the right research, we’re here to help you get through this summer and stay hydrated not just with plainly drinking water. Now, let’s talk about creative ways to stay hydrated this summer.
Stay hydrated this summer.
You read it right. It is said that when oats are cooked, they expand and absorb the water or milk they are paired with. This is what makes it hydrating and will keep you full all morning.
According to studies, milk is more hydrating than water or sports drinks due to its source of protein, carbohydrates, calcium and electrolytes. If you are lactose intolerant, you may have almond milk as it’s lactose-free and tasty at the same time. Got milk? Drink milk!
Most lettuce greens contain at least 94% of water. The more you add veggies on your plate, the more liquid intake it is which will keep you hydrated. Tara samgyup! (haha)
Who doesn’t love smoothies and fruit shakes? You may use strawberries, mango, watermelon or whatever option that suits your taste. Refreshing and hydrating!
If you can’t stand just plain water, level it up! You may have cucumber water or lemon water. Aside from its healthy benefits, it is easy to make and can be enjoyed any time. Though lemon seems to be an interesting pair with tequila, it best suits water. A glass of lemonada for you. Cheers!
We hope this could somehow help you to stay fresh and lively this summer! At its simplest form, water is the key! And this is a first step to a healthy suroy!
