Mountain View Nature’s Park, Busay: The Pool, the Cross and the City Below

Mountain View Nature’s Park is a hillside park off the Transcentral Highway in Busay, and the reason to go is the same as everywhere on this ridge: Cebu City, the CCLEX and Mactan laid out below. What it adds is a pool you can swim in with that view, a cross at the top of the grounds, and an entrance that has stayed cheap. What it does not have is a reliable published schedule, so call before driving up.

What it costs and when it is open

No official rate card is published online. A May 2026 report put the entrance at about ₱50. An undated listing gives the pool at about ₱100 extra, the rope course at ₱150, and rooms from ₱600 to ₱2,800. Treat all of it as a guide and carry cash.

Hours are the bigger gap. Some listings describe the park as open around the clock; another gives 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 9 PM on weekends. The park’s Facebook page, Mountain View Nature’s Park, is the place to confirm both before the drive.

The view, the pool and the cross

The view is the main event. From the upper grounds the CCLEX and the tallest towers of the city sit in one frame, with Mactan across the channel.

The pool is an infinity-edge pool facing the city, the one feature every review mentions. It is charged on top of the entrance.

At the top of the grounds stands the Millennium Cross, near a Love Lock Garden. A Stations of the Cross path leads up to it, and reviewers describe it as mossy and slippery, so wear shoes with grip and skip it in the rain.

Elsewhere there is a rope course with a short zipline, a restaurant called Fire Tree Nook, and rooms that run from fan rooms to air-conditioned suites. When the grounds were photographed, a Christmas Park section carried seasonal sculptures.

Getting there

No jeepney runs to the gate. The usual way up without a car is a habal-habal from JY Square in Lahug, which was ₱100 to ₱150 one way in late 2024; agree the fare before you get on, and arrange the ride back, because there is no ride waiting at the top. By car or Grab, follow the Transcentral Highway up through Busay to Sitio Garahe.

Busay sits in cloud on some afternoons. On those days the view can disappear completely, which is the risk with every stop on this ridge.

The rest of the ridge

The park is one stop on a ridge full of them. Tops is the classic lookout, Temple of Leah is a few minutes down the road, and Sirao Garden and the Taoist Temple round out a day.

Most people come up here to stop for an afternoon. The Pahuway tee is Bisaya for exactly that.
